Barbecue Festival

Barbecue is one of the most widely spread dishes of the Armenian cuisine. There exist thousands of various recipes for preparing it, yet the popular one includes shredded small cuts of pork, lamb, fish, chicken or vegetables, cooked on charcoal in mangal (grill). Barbecue festival is annually celebrated in Akhtala town with a purpose to develop Armenian culinary traditions. Tolma Festival

Food lovers from Armenia and around the world annually gather to celebrate Tolma festival, the purpose of which is to popularize this traditional dish. Tolma is usually made from lamb, beef & spices, which are wrapped in grape/cabbage leaves. During the festival cooks prepare ~70 types of tolma, including the ones with rare recipes. Tolma festival is accompanied with dances, songs, contests, as well as entertaining games, so it's all about cooking and having fun!

Yerevan Wine Days

Yerevan Wine Days stands as a great way for wine lovers to taste best wines of Armenian production, combined with wide spectrum of cheese and aperitifs. Sheep Shearing Festival

Annually thousands of people from all over Armenia take part in sheep shearing festival, which is held in Syunik province, for here the livestock sector is at high level of development. The thing making shearing sheep in Armenia special from that of other countries is that here it is done with the help of special scissors and not mechanical devices.
